SADTU LIMPOPO PROVINCE MOURNS THE DEATH OF WATERBRG REGIONAL SECRETARY, CDE ZWELIBALILE WITTES
The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) in the Limpopo Province is deeply saddened by the death of Cde Zwelibalele Wittes, the Regional Secretary of Waterberg Region and a full time shopsteward of the union. He passed away on Tuesday, 05th May 2026 after a short illness.
Cde Zweli was one of the youngest regional secretaries in the province who distinguished himself as a very hardworking trade unionist who always placed the interests of the union members above anything else. He was very soft spoken, a trait that belied his erudite and consummate knowledge of labour matters. He was a hard taskmaster who prioritised membership service at all material times. His exceptional aptitude for solving members’ issues was beyond amazing. His life was plucked out in his prime when the union was still expecting much from him. The memorial and funeral services have been arranged as follows:
