SADTU JOURNAL RECEIVES DHET ACCREDITATION
The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) is proud to announce that the Journal of the South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (JSADTU) has been officially accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
The JSADTU is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary, and open access academic journal that covers a broad range of educational topics, including basic and higher education, adult education, early childhood development, vocational education and training as well as the decolonisation of education.
The Journal aligns with the Unions 2030 Vision – particularly Pillar Two: Creating a Learning Nation – and reflects SADTU’s 10th Congress theme: “Mobilising the consciousness and uniting revolutionary professionals in strengthening foundational learning and functional skills, to advance inclusive and sustainable economic growth in pursuance of a socialist society.”
This DHET accreditation means that members, researchers, academics, policymakers, and all other related stakeholders are now able to publish in JSADTU for peer-reviewed academic recognition, promotional academic purposes, and to access National Research Foundation (NRF) research subsidies and grants.
The JSADTU welcomes papers that demonstrate original contribution of knowledge and theoretical insights and/or analytic empirical work. All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process. The Journal is published twice a year.
The Chief Editor of JSADTU is SADTU’s Research Officer, Dr David Matsepe. He is supported by a 14-member editorial committee made up academics from some of the universities in South Africa, Gambia, Nigeria, Gambia, Canada, United Kingdom, and the Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa.
For further information about the Journal or submission guidelines, please contact Dr Matsepe at DMatsepe@sadtu.org.za
