According to the DBE, the NTA programme forms part of its broader initiative to promote teaching as a noble profession and to cultivate a culture of excellence in education. The department emphasised that improving the quality of education is essential to addressing the country’s social, economic, and developmental challenges, including poverty, inequality, and prejudice.
