SADTU to take legal action against pseudo union, EUSA for false accusations against KZN Provincial Secretary
The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) notes with contempt, the statement issued by the pseudo trade union EUSA regarding the Provincial Secretary of SADTU in KwaZulu Natal, Cde Nomarashiya Caluza.
Ironically, EUSA claims to seek to ensure transparency. This is despite their continued dismal failure to account fully for their participation in the unlawful deduction from the salaries of 8808 employees of the Kwa Zulu Natal Department of Education most of them being SADTU members. EUSA and its leadership participated in a nefarious scheme to siphon money from the salaries of employees, something unprecedented done by an entity calling itself a trade union.
The pseudo trade union EUSA, which hardly has a physical address, is irritated after the leadership of SADTU in KZN discovered the fraud perpetrated against employees through a claimed insurance scheme. Cde Nomarashiya as the Provincial Secretary dutifully exposed this scam, hence SADTU took legal action against EUSA.
Cde Nomarashiya has never submitted any fraudulent documents to secure employment. These allegations are old and tired. They were fully investigated by the SAPS and found to have no merit.
SADTU calls upon EUSA to first answer in public to the scam of unlawfully deducting from employees and not divert attention from its own unlawful actions. Secondly, EUSA is called upon to make public any evidence it has of its unfounded allegations against Cde Nomarashiya.
SADTU and Cde Nomarashiya will be taking legal action against EUSA and its failed leadership to compel them to produce evidence of their allegations or retract their unfounded statements.
In the meantime, the legal action including criminal charges against EUSA will continue. SADTU will not be distracted by charlatans who have betrayed workers by participating and causing unlawful deductions from their salaries.
