SADTU Free State Media Statement

Women’s Day Celebration Fun Walk

2 August 2022

The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union in Free State will celebrate the 2022 Women’s Day in the form of a “Fun Walk” to raise awareness and call for every citizen to stand up against acts of violence on women and children that have reached alarming proportions.

As we celebrate and honour the women of 1956 for their resilience against apartheid laws, the women of today are facing a new monster of brutality against them.

In this month of August, it is our responsibility to walk on the path of those courageous women fighters to ensure complete emancipation of all and totally eradicate these barbaric acts of Gender Based Violence in our country.

The event is open to members of SADTU, and anyone interested should contact the SADTU Free State Provincial Office at (051) 4301257/3043 to register.
