SADTU celebrates World Teachers’ Day

The General Secretary of the South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) and Vice President of Education International Mugwena Maluleke, joined by the KwaZulu/Natal provincial leaders,  celebrated World Teachers Day at the Ethekwini Community Church with Bishop Vusi Dube in Durban today.

Bishop Dube dedicated the sermon to celebrate teachers in the world. He said; “A teacher has no grave because the grave of a teacher is in the hearts of his students.” In response, Maluleke thanked the church for dedicating the day to nation builders. He said; ”Teachers are passionate about what they do. They teach with humility. They provide warmth and hope to those in despair.”

Maluleke said the peace loving teachers teach in very difficult conditions. He called on everyone to support the teachers as they inspired our young people to do their best.
