SADTU Gauteng welcomes the return of all her members to their workstation this morning. This follows the latest demand by the remaining teachers and learners that they return. The call was in support of our longstanding call for the return of the teachers to the school.
We thank all responsible parents and stakeholders who took the stand in defence of our children's education. We have all learnt painful lessons out of this unnecessary experience and this situation must never be repeated.
Further, we call on the responsible Gauteng Department of Education officials to facilitate a smooth reintegration process and assist the institution to make the best possible use of the remaining time before the end of the academic year. We encourage all role players at the school to work collaboratively and wish them all of the best in their endeavour to recover the lost time.
We remain unflinching in our resolve to claim our right to have our human dignity and safety protected and respected in pursuit of a decolonized qualify public education
