Delay in signing the Collective Agreement no 4 of 2009.

UPDATE ON OSD NEGOTIATIONS, 16 July 2009

The South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) is frustrated at the delay in signing the Collective Agreement no 4 of 2009. SADTU held a special National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Monday whereby all members agreed to accept Friday’s offer and gave the executive the mandate to sign. However, before the union could sign, we were informed that the employer was still waiting for a mandate from the National Treasury.


“The offer presented to us on Friday is the only one which we are going to accept and sign. The offer recognizes among others - teachers experience, and increases the salaries of teachers who are regarded as under-qualified,” Acting General Secretary Mugwena Maluleke said. Read more
