SADTU Western Cape is deeply disturbed by the incident at Sans Souci Girls High School which is trending on social media.
The Union is calling on the Western Cape Education Department and School Governing Body to investigate the matter in relation to the conduct of the educator and the learner.
SADTU does not condone the behaviour of the educator and the learner involved.
The union believes that schools should be places of peace, tolerance and respect. Such incidents of intolerance, violent behavior, aggression, and disrespect are not conducive for learning and teaching.
All role players must act and behave in a manner that is lawful and acceptable in the ethos of our country and our schools as institutions of learning.
