The South African Democratic Teacher Union in the North West (SADTU NW) the largest trade union in the education sector, conveys its best wishes to 34 860 candidates who will be writing their 2018 National Senior Certificate Examinations in the North West Province.
These examinations are crucial in the lives of the learners as they mark an end to twelve years of basic and secondary schooling and serve as a gateway to tertiary education, work and career opportunities.
SADTU North West commends its members and teachers in general for their tireless efforts in preparing the learners for the mammoth task ahead and at times sacrificing their deserved rest.
We call upon the parents, guardians and society in general to give learners their undivided support and guide during this period. We reiterate our stance regarding safer learning and teaching environment in our schools. Further, we urge communities to take their rightful place to defend schools, learners and teachers as violence in this environment leads to the regression of society.
We wish learners all of the best and urge them to dedicate their time to study hard and revise in order to maximize and double their efforts.
The Union says, you have done well to get where you are and this matric exam marks another important milestone in your lives. Good luck!
