SADTU Free State demands response from the MTT on submission made by SADTU National

6 May 2016

The South African Democratic Teachers Union in Free State has noted with concern the arrogance of the Ministerial Task Team led by Prof Volmink not to respond nor consider amending the draft leaked report on selling of posts after SADTU had made its submission.

The Minister upon being issued with letter by lawyers of the Union delayed the release of the report for the MTT to consider written submissions from the union and implicated individuals and to consider appropriate action between the 15 and 29 April 2016. This date has however passed and the Task Team has not uttered a word. The conduct of the MTT in failing to comply with the directive of the Minister is a confirmation that the leaked report to the media and their right wing handlers is final.

As the South African Democratic Teachers in Free State we call upon our national leadership to instruct our lawyers to seek an order compelling MTT to follow a rational approach to the investigations and consider our representation.

The release of the reworked report will bring the matter to conclusion and allow the law to take its course to those involved in the selling of posts.

SADTU will leave no stone unturned in fighting her rights from being trampled on by the MTT that has pre-determined agenda to tarnish the image of our union.
